Product Description
A putt that has too little speed will never end up in the hole. It is therefore important that you as a putter always give the ball a chance. If you miss; then it is important that you let the ball end up 40cm behind the hole . If the ball rolls faster : then the chance of a 'lip-out' is greater. If the ball rolls slower : then there is a greater chance that your ball will deviate from its ideal line because of pitch marks and footprints.
This is one of the parts you can practice with a putting mat. Also with this 3-meter long extra sturdy Puttting Mat from Explanar. A brand from the Netherlands and a putting mat that is heavier and firmer compared to all its competitors. In addition, including putting hole; that is mentally a lot more pleasant putting.
Furthermore, this Explanar putting mat has a stimp of 10.
What exactly does that mean: how higher the stimp, how faster the green.
For comparison; the average Dutch golf course has a stimp of 8.3, a good course here in the Netherlands can achieve a stimp of 9.0 on a dry summer day.
KLM Open usually plays on a stimp of 10.5-11.0.
In other words, you practice with a fast but excellent putting mat.
Due to the firmer rubber base, Explanar putting mats do not easily create a kind of groove. After years of putting, this is a known problem with other putting mats.
The putting mat has a line in the middle so you can practice the correct hitting surface. Is it 0 degrees at the moment of impact? Does it stay within the orange line? Also try to perform a drill from each red dot and let each ball end up in the hole.
Use the putting mat in combination with a putting mirror, putting gates or Pressure Putt for even more specific training.
